EONCap board approved submission offer to shareholders

The Board of EONCAP (via MIMB) has approved (with the exception of Primus’s CEO) to forward Hong Leong Bank’s asset and liabilities purchase offer to shareholders via an EGM which will be announced at a later date.

The Board of EONCAP has also proposed to distribute the full sales proceed via special dividend and capital repayment to shareholders once the sales has been been concluded. The expected date for the full distribution is by end 2010.

Sarawak Cable Bhd, which is slated to be listed on the Bursa Malaysia main market on May 25, received commendable response for its initial public offering with the public tranche of six million new shares oversubscribed by 6.43 times.

In a statement, the company said it received a total of 2,904 applications for 44.59 million shares from the Malaysian public.

“In view of the oversubscribed situation for shares under the Malaysian public category, a total of 298,200 unallocated shares reserved for eligible directors, employees and business associates of our group were made available to the Malaysian public,” it said.

Bonus shares for Zhulian shareholders

Zhulian Corp Bhd has proposed a one-for-three bonus issue of 115 million shares of 50 sen each.

As at April 30, Zhulian’s issued and paid-up capital stood at RM172.5mil, comprising 345 million shares. The proposed bonus issue is expected to enlarge the issued and paid-up share capital to RM230mil.

In a filing to Bursa Malaysia yesterday, Zhulian said the proposed bonus issue would be wholly capitalised from the company’s retained profit accounts.

Based on the audited consolidated financial statements of Zhulian and its subsidiaries as at Nov 30, 2009, the retained profits of the group stood at RM147.6mil while retained earnings of Zhulian at the company level amounted to RM22.2mil.

Zhulian also proposed to amend its memorandum and articles of association to enable it to implement the electronic dividend payment.
