Bonus shares for Zhulian shareholders

Zhulian Corp Bhd has proposed a one-for-three bonus issue of 115 million shares of 50 sen each.
As at April 30, Zhulian’s issued and paid-up capital stood at RM172.5mil, comprising 345 million shares. The proposed bonus issue is expected to enlarge the issued and paid-up share capital to RM230mil.
In a filing to Bursa Malaysia yesterday, Zhulian said the proposed bonus issue would be wholly capitalised from the company’s retained profit accounts.
Based on the audited consolidated financial statements of Zhulian and its subsidiaries as at Nov 30, 2009, the retained profits of the group stood at RM147.6mil while retained earnings of Zhulian at the company level amounted to RM22.2mil.
Zhulian also proposed to amend its memorandum and articles of association to enable it to implement the electronic dividend payment.
