Three new directors for SEGI

SEG International Bhd (SEGi) annnounced the appointment of three new directors to its board yesterday.

Datuk Putit Matzen and Goh Leng Chua are non-executive directors while Hew Moi Lan is appointed executive director.

SEGi said in a statement that the appointment of the new directors, with their unique expertise and experience, would enrich the company and help it to develop further.

Putit is also the independent non-executive director of CCK Consolidated Holdings Bhd, vice chairman of the Malaysian Red Crescent Society (Sarawak branch), president of Malaysian Historical Society (Sarawak branch), a member of Lembaga Amanah Kebajikan Masjid Negeri Sarawak and the president of Sarawak Islamic Council.

Goh is the business advisor of GLC Capital Sdn Bhd. He has vast experience in estate planning, asset-based financing, commercial law, natural resources, utilities and real estate.

Goh, who has a Master of Laws, started his profession as a legal practitioner. Hew is also SEGi’s chief operating officer and has 20 years experience in the education industry.

She is also a fellow member of The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK and a chartered accountant with the Malaysian Institute of Accountants.

The board changes come after the recent acquisition of a substantial stake in SEGi by bumi-owned Cerahsar Sdn Bhd.
