Nestle (M) Bhd posted a 9% lower net profit of RM79.8mil for its third quarter ended Sept 30 against RM87.5mil recorded in the same period last year as consumers became more cautious on their spending due to the economic slowdown.
Revenue stood at RM886.8mil against RM961.8mil a year ago while earnings per share came in at 34.01 sen compared with 37.33 sen previously.
For the nine months ended Sept 30, Nestle’s net profit stood at RM265.6mil compared with RM263.6mil for the same period in 2008. Meanwhile, revenue dipped to RM2.79bil from RM2.9bil earlier.
