Bursa New Chief Information Officer – Lim Jit Jee

Pro Trade Shares pick up the news today that Bursa has appointed a new Chief Information Officer (CIO), Mr Lim Jit Jee today (16 September 2008). The previous CIO resigned after Bursa equity trading system was down for one full day on 3 July 2008 . Recently the derivatives system was down half a day.
I understand Lim Jit Jee is also known as ‘JJ’ to the industry player. He has over 20 years experience in the securities industry and previously was Bursa’s Head of Exchange Operations. JJ was the Executive Director of Association of Stockbroking Companies Malaysia from 2006 to May 2008.
Along with the appointment, Lim Jit Jee has also been admitted as one of the management committee.
The Bursa CIO position is a ‘hot seat’ at the moment as Bursa is in the midst of launching the new Broker Trading System (BTS) scheduled in November 2008. Pro Trade Shares wishes JJ Lim best of luck in his new position.
