Bursa Malaysia Update – No Equity Trading for the day

Bursa just informed all stockbrokers that there will not be any trading for the rest of the day.
Bursa Malaysia CEO will hold a press conference at 5.30pm today (Thursday – 3 July 2008) to explain the trading suspension on the equities market.
Looks like Bursa Malaysia’s Disaster Recovery Site could not handle the disaster.
All industry players said this is the first time a Bursa system wide failure has occur.
